Tell your science story!
The InsideOut StoryLab is building a “Science on the Move” collection! The collection has two goals: to share writing and art between inside and unconfined community members on the outside, and to tell stories of science that are accessible, culturally relevant and sparking interest in STEM. This will be our fifth collection of submissions that we have received from community members who are incarcerated and unconfined.
Our collection currently has 6 stories which you can read through this link. Thank you to our Authors!
Please consider submitting your original stories and/or black and white sketches. If selected, your submission will become a part of our collection! Your submissions will help us spark curiosity, and strengthen scientific understanding within our entire community!
Submissions must be previously unpublished, online or in print, including on personal websites. Work must be a maximum of 7500 characters, including spaces (approximately 1750 words). For formatting poetry, keep in mind that the story dispensers print on paper that can hold only 40 characters per line. Comics, sketches, and drawings will be printed in grayscale.
We are publishing and sharing this collection starting in May 2023. Please send questions or draft submissions to: uaf-lion@alaska.edu
