Due to Covid-19, with no volunteers able to come inside, all outside educational opportunities for prisoners have been put on on hold. Classes such as Area 111X, yoga and Voices Uncaged are no longer being held. In lieu of in-person classes and without the ability to connect to prisoners through an internet connection, 50 “Pandemic Packets” were distributed to men and women in FCC. The packets include reading material about past pandemics, including history about pandemics in Alaska, as well as numerous writing prompts and other activities from which people can choose to complete, needing at least three complete activities and a reflection essay in order to finish the packet. Thus far, we have seven finishers!
